Look to me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
– Isaiah 45:22
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
God’s words tell us that only God is worthy of reliance and admiration. We should fear God and obey Him, seek His will in all things, and let Him reign in our hearts and take control. Only in this way can we be in line with His will. But at our usual meetings, we always look up to the pastors and elders more than God in our hearts because they often explain the Bible. When we meet with difficulties or important matters, the first thing we often do is to ask the pastors and elders and do what they tell us. No matter whether their words are in line with the truth or God’s will, we submit to them absolutely. It is said in Ten Commandments, “You shall have none other gods before me” (Deu 5:7). We can know clearly from these words that we ought to exalt God at any time and only God must have a place in our hearts. The pastors and elders are also corrupted by Satan and are not possessed of the truth, no matter how well they explain the Bible and how gifted they are, we cannot worship or look up to them. God is a God who hates evil and who is holy and righteous. His righteous disposition is truly unoffendable to man. If we treat the pastors and elders as God then we are blaspheming against Him. Hence, we cannot blindly worship or look up to the pastors and elders, or follow them, but honor God as great, and seek His will in all things and act according to the principles of the truth. In this way, we can be in accordance with God’s will.
