For truly I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.
– Matthew 17:20
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
The Lord Jesus taught us that we should have faith in the Lord. However, when we have difficulties in work or life, we will lose faith and stop moving forward; when we ask the Lord to cure our illness in prayer but He doesn’t answer, we’ll lose faith … Then how should we have true faith in God?
God says, “The heart and spirit of man are held in the hand of God, and all the life of man is beheld in the eyes of God. Regardless of whether or not you believe this, any and all things, living or dead, will shift, change, renew, and disappear according to God’s thoughts. This is how God rules over all things.” From God’s words, it can be seen that any and all things, living or dead, will change according to God’s thoughts, because God is the Creator who rules over everything. So if we want to have true faith in God, we must first know His sovereignty.
Just as Job knew God’s wisdom and almightiness in the laws of change of all things, confirmed God’s true existence from various people’s destiny, and moreover, he experienced God’s sovereignty and predestination in his lifetime. He saw that everything was in God’s hands, whether one was blessed or cursed was not up to man. Therefore, when he experienced painful trials, he could obey God’s orchestration and arrangements. No matter losing sons and daughters or suffering illness, he still stood witness for God.
So whatever difficulties or suffering we face in life, if we believe in God’s sovereignty and know His authority, we will be able to put aside our fears and misunderstandings and come before God to experience and appreciate it. Thus, our faith in God will grow little by little.
Share a passage of God’s words, “What does faith refer to? Faith is the genuine belief and the sincere heart that humans should possess when they cannot see or touch something, when God’s work is not in line with human notions, when it is beyond human reach. This is the faith that I speak of. … No matter how God works or what kind of environment you are in, you will be able to pursue life, pursue the development of God’s work in you, and pursue the truth. You will have an understanding of God’s actions and you will be able to act according to the truth. This is your genuine faith, and this shows that you have not lost hope in God. You will still seek the truth in refinement, you will be able to truly love God and will not develop doubts of Him. No matter what He does, you will still practice the truth to satisfy Him, and you will be able to deeply seek out His will and be considerate of His will. Only this is true faith in God.”
