He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

– Matthew 10:37

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Through reading the Lord’s word, we can understand His will and the duty we should perform as a creature. As a true believer and the one who pursue to love God, he should exalt and magnify God, revere God and submit to Him in all things, and is able to take God’s will as important thing and put his own things in the second place. When God calls upon him and have demands to make of him, he is able to abandon everything to expend himself for God and devote himself wholeheartedly to God’s work to satisfy His demand. This is the behavioral principles of those who believe in God and those who are possessed of conscience and sense ought to be equipped with. This kind of people must be blessed by God. Because the Lord Jesus said, “There is no man that has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting” (Luke 18:29-30). Thus, we should leave everything behind and exert all our efforts for God to repay His love. This is the greatest good deed and virtuous act, and the thing most approved by God.
