May28, 2018 – Matthew 13:19

When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

– Matthew 13:19

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Those who have heard the truth and yet don’t understand it are just like the seed by the wayside, have no foundation and can be deceived by Satan at any time. Hence, we should read and ponder God’s words more while believing in God, and bring His words into our real life and live by His words, then we’ll not be deceived by Satan. Just as God’s words say, “No matter what God spoke of, as long as those words could become his life and they belonged to the truth, he was able to carve them into his heart to ponder them often and comprehend them. After hearing the words of Jesus he was able to take them to heart, which shows that he was especially focused on God’s words, and he truly achieved results in the end. That is, he was able to freely put the words of God into practice, accurately practice the truth and be in line with God’s will, act entirely in accordance with God’s intention, and give up his own personal opinions and imaginations. In this way he entered into the reality of God’s words. Peter’s service was in line with God’s will primarily because he did this.” Peter’s attitude toward God’s words should be followed by every Christian. No matter what the Lord said, Peter carved the Lord’s words into his heart, pondering them often and comprehending them. After he understood God’s words, he could put the words into practice in real life according to God’s intentions and requirements. If he did something that didn’t satisfy God, he would feel indebted to Him and resolve to satisfy Him the next time. Therefore, he was favored by God and given the keys of the kingdom of heaven to him. If we want to put down roots on the path of believing in God, we should follow the example of Peter, put effort into God’s words, read and practice His words more. Only in this way can we not be deceived by Satan. Thank God!
