But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

This word was said to disciples by the Lord Jesus when they sailed at sea in a storm, and the disciples were in fear and terror. From this we can see that it is very important to have faith in God whenever we are in trouble. What is faith? God says, “What does faith refer to? Faith is the genuine belief and the sincere heart that humans should possess when they cannot see or touch something, when God’s work is not in line with human notions, when it is beyond human reach. This is the faith that I speak of.” When our lives are comfortable, we thank and praise God. However, when we encounter things that are disagreeable to us, especially in trials and refinements, pains and tribulations, whether we can still hold onto God’s name and follow Him is the best way to reveal our faith. When Job lost his children and a mountainful of sheep and oxen, and suffered from his illness, he not only didn’t complain, but adhered to the Lord’s name, saying, “the LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” Job stood the testimony to God. This is his true faith in God and what we should follow.
