July 22 2018 – Ephesians 4:26

Be you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath:

– Ephesians 4:26

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Anger and wrath are the manifestation of normal humanity. We Christians also get angry, for we are still living in the flesh. We will probably be badly treated or come across irritations in our life, so the verse reminds us not to sin rather than not to get angry. Then what should we do when we get angry? Regardless of how angry we are, we should learn to be quiet before God and call upon Him, asking Him to help us. When we truly rely on God and act according to Jesus’ words, we will have peace and joy in our hearts.

This verse asks us not to bear a grudge against others, much less should we harbor grudges for a long time. Although someone offends us, we should be tolerant and patient. Jesus Christ still prayed for His enemies after He was nailed to the cross. He really didn’t harbor resentment. We should learn from Jesus since we belong to Him.
