Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

What will be the ultimate outcome of the righteous and the wicked? The essential nature of the wicked is malicious. They often do evil and resist God, compete with Him without repentance. They are finally punished and destroyed by God. But instead, only the righteous can be cared for and protected by God and have peace and joy in their hearts because they fear Him and obey His orchestrations and arrangements. This reminds me that at the Age of Law, the people of Sodom sinned, resisted, and stubbornly opposed God, and eventually they were ruined by God. On the contrary, Lot was willing to exchange his two daughters in order to protect God’s two messengers. At the end of the day, because of Lot’s righteous deed, he and his family were saved by God. From these, we have seen the different outcome between the righteous and the wicked, as well as God’s righteous disposition. We ought to consider the path we walk, and how to be a righteous person in God’s eyes. Then what is righteousness in God’s eyes? Let’s read God’s words, “‘Righteousness’ does not mean giving alms, it does not mean loving your neighbor as yourself, and it does not mean not fighting, arguing, robbing, or stealing. Righteousness means taking God’s commission as your duty and obeying God’s orchestrations and arrangements as a heaven-sent vocation, regardless of the time or place, just like all that was done by the Lord Jesus. This is the very righteousness spoken of by God.”
