Thoughts on Today’s Verse

​Recalling the past, the Pharisees saw Jesus’ work, but they didn’t accept His work because of their grievous conceptions. Instead, they resisted God, and were cursed and punished by God in the end.

The Pharisees’ failure is a great warning for us. Jesus once said, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come” (Jhn 16:12-13). “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the middle of the paradise of God” (Rev 2:7). It can be seen that Jesus will speak when He comes again in the late period of the last days. If we stubbornly hold on to our conceptions without seeking and studying God’s voice and work, ultimately we’ll come to ruin because of our notions.

God says, “Can you be such that you accept without question all the work of the Holy Spirit? If it is the work of the Holy Spirit, then it is the right stream. You should accept it without the slightest misgivings, rather than picking and choosing what to accept. If you gain some knowledge from God and exercise some caution against Him, is this not an act truly uncalled for? What you ought to do is accept, without the need for further substantiation from the Bible, any work so long as it is that of the Holy Spirit, for you believe in God to follow God, not to investigate Him. You should not search out further proof for Me to show that I am your God. Rather, you ought to discern whether I am of benefit to you; that is the key.”

“If you desire to witness the appearance of God, if you wish to follow the footprints of God, then you must first transcend your own conceptions. You must not demand that God do this or that, much less should you place Him within your own confines and limit Him to your own conceptions. Instead, you should ask how you should seek the footprints of God, how you should accept the appearance of God, and how you should submit to the new work of God; that is what should be done by man. Since man is not the truth, and is not possessed of the truth, man should seek, accept, and obey.”

We all know God is the Creator, His thoughts are higher than man’s thoughts, and He carries out His work according to His management plan rather than man’s notions and imaginations. God’s will and wisdom are contained in all of this. We’re just creatures and unable to fathom God’s work. Therefore, if we want to behold God’s appearance, follow His footsteps and gain His salvation, we should obey and seek first, set aside all our notions and imaginations. I believe that God will enlighten and guide us to understand the truth, know His work and gain His salvation.
