And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straightly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
– Matthew 9:30
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
The Lord Jesus healed two blind men, but asked them not to tell others. From this we can see the wisdom of God’s work. Before the Lord Jesus was nailed to the cross, His work and word were open to His believers and followers, but hidden from others. Matthew 16:13-20 states: “He asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? … And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. … Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.” Matthew 17:9 states, “And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.” Mark 1:40-45 states that after Jesus healed a leper, “And he straightly charged him, and immediately sent him away; And said to him, See you say nothing to any man.” From these verses we can see that Jesus did not allow people to spread His name publicly because the Pharisees were catching Him everywhere and wanted to frame Him, and also because His work on earth had not finished. The time for Him to be crucified had not arrived. Therefore, Jesus straightly charged them not to tell anything to others, lest interrupted God’s work. This is God’s wisdom. Now it’s the last days, and mankind’s evil and corruption are even worse than Sodom’s in every way. Then will the Lord come in this wise way?
