And he said to them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
– Matthew 8:26
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
Although these disciples followed the Lord and believed in Him, their faith in the Lord Jesus seemed pitiful when they saw the fierce wind howling and waves surging turbulently upon the sea. Just as God’s words say: “What does faith refer to? Faith is the genuine belief and the sincere heart that humans should possess when they cannot see or touch something, when God’s work is not in line with human notions, when it is beyond human reach. This is the faith that I speak of.” When facts happen, our faith in God, whether it’s big or small, will be revealed. When God blesses us, we praise and thank God, we feel that we were supposed to expend ourselves for God and suffer and pay a price for God, our faith in God is also big. However, when God wants to try us or strip us, we misunderstand and blame God, and our faith in God disappears.
