Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.
– Matthew 7:21
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
Here the Lord Jesus told us the standard of entering into the kingdom of heaven. If you only acknowledge the name and the work of God, and admit that the heavens and earth and all things are created by God, you cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. Only those who do the will of the heavenly Father can enter into the kingdom of heaven. What then is to do the will of the heavenly Father? God’s word says, “If, like Jesus, you are able to give every care to God’s burden, and turn your back on your flesh, God will entrust His important tasks to you, so that you will meet the conditions of serving God. Only under such circumstances will you dare to say that you are carrying out God’s will and completing His commission, only then will you dare say you are truly serving God. ” From God’s word, we know that God hopes we can imitate the Lord Jesus. To fulfill God’s commission, we can put aside our own personal benefit, share His restlessness, and His wants, and do things in accordance with His demands and will. Only people like this are qualified to carry out God’s will, and can enter into the kingdom of heaven.
