O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
– Matthew12:34
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
One’s mouth is the gate of his heart. The words he speaks represent his thoughts in his heart. Therefore, in our daily life, we should pay attention to reflecting on our motivations in everything we do. Just as God’s word says, “Whenever you do anything, you must examine whether your motivations are right. If you are able to act according to the requirements of God, then your relationship with God is normal. This is the minimum criterion. … Whenever you do or say anything, you must put your heart right, be righteous, and not be led by your emotions, or act according to your own will. These are the principles by which believers in God conduct themselves.” God’s word tells us that we are seeking to achieve our own personal objectives in our every move, everything we say and do. Therefore, whenever we say or do anything, we should examine that whether our motivations are correct, whether our words benefit others, and whether our motivations and words are for the sake of practicing the truth and testifying God. This should be the behavioral principles of those who revere God.
