November 7, 2019—Psalm 56:3

What time I am afraid, I will trust in you.
– Psalm 56:3

Thoughts on Today’s Verse:

This verse reminds me of Jesus resurrected Jairus’ daughter (See Mak 5:21-43).

Jairus’ daughter was dying when he begged Jesus to heal her. On his way home, someone told him that his daughter had died, but Jesus said to him, “Fear not: believe only.” Jairus’ hope was rekindled by these words and his daughter came alive in the end.

There is a saying, “The dead can’t be brought back to life.” But God surpasses life and death, and only He can command mankind’s life and death. Only God is our reliance. Even though we will suffer pain and despair, there is hope with God’s presence. It is said in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” If you are in fear or pain, don’t be afraid, God is our reliance.
