June 28, 2019—A Commentary on Psalm 1:2

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night.
– Psalm 1:2

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

From this verse we can feel the authority and power of God’s words. When God used Jeremiah, Jeremiah was afraid of not knowing what to say because he was young. Then Jehovah God’s words came upon him and gave him faith to accomplish what He had entrusted him with. When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he faced lots of difficulties and dangers, but God was with him. Even though the Egyptian Pharaoh tried every means to prevent the Israelites from leaving Egypt, Jehovah God sent ten plagues on it. After seeing Jehovah God’s mightiness, the Israelites had faith to leave Egypt. When the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, before them was the Red Sea and behind them were the soldiers, and they felt very scared. However, at this critical moment God revealed His wondrous deeds again—parting the Red Sea. Moses successfully led the Israelites across the Red Sea. Seeing God’s mightiness again, Moses had more confidence to lead the Israelites to the good land of Canaan. From this, we know when we accept what God entrusts us with and meet lots of difficulties, we feel timid and afraid in our heart, but we should believe that God is with us, and that He will give us faith and strength and lead our way ahead. Just as God’s words say, “You shouldn’t be afraid of this and that. No matter how many difficulties and dangers you face, you shall remain steady before Me; do not be obstructed by anything, so that My will can be carried out. This shall be your duty, otherwise you shall face My wrath and My hand will…, and you will endure endless mental suffering. You must endure all, you must relinquish everything you have and do everything you can to follow Me, pay all the costs for Me. This is the time that I shall test you, will you offer your loyalty to Me? Will you follow Me to the end of the road with loyalty? Be not afraid; with My support, who could ever block the road? Remember this! Remember! Everything that occurs is by My good intention and all is under My observation. Can your every word and action follow My word? When the trials of fire come upon you, will you kneel and call out? Or will you cower, unable to move forward?
