For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
– Matthew 16:27
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
From the Lord Jesus’ words I know that the Lord is righteous, He will reward good and punish evil according to our deeds. Therefore, we should always guard our behavior and follow the Lord’s will in our conduct, lest we offend God. When the Pharisees faced the Lord Jesus’ work, they didn’t have a heart that fears God at all. Instead, they wantonly condemned the Lord Jesus’ work in an arrogant, ignorant way, and ultimately committed the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, and were cursed by the Lord Jesus. Later the Pharisees and the Jewish people committed the heinous sin of nailing the Lord Jesus to the cross and never repented to God. In the end, the Jews were punished by God later than AD 70, many Jews being killed. From this, we can know God is unoffendable.
The failure of the Pharisees has given us a warning: When God’s work doesn’t conform to our notions, we should hold a heart of reverence for God and seek more, lest we resist God and be abandoned by Him. When the Lord Jesus comes again in the last days, He will also do the work of rewarding the good and punishing the evil to give different people their own outcome.
God says, “After God’s work ends, among all His creatures, there will be those who will be destroyed and those who will survive. This is an inevitable trend of His management work. No one can deny this. Evildoers cannot survive; those who obey and follow Him to the end are certainly to survive. As this work is that of humanity’s management, there will be those who remain and those who are eliminated. These are different outcomes of different types of people, and these are the most suitable arrangements for His creatures.”
