August13 2018–Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
– Revelation 3:20

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

It is so crucial to identify God’s voice. When Jesus did His work, Peter saw that Jesus holds the substance of God—the way of eternal life—from His word and work. Thus Peter recognized that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Through Jesus’ words, other disciples and common people also understood that these words were from God, not from man, so they accepted and followed Jesus after hearing God’s voice. These people were wise virgins. At the crucial moment to welcome the second coming of Jesus in the last days, knowing how to identify God’s voice is of utmost importance for every believer. If we are able to recognize God’s voice, we can welcome Jesus and attend the feast with Him. However, if we cannot recognize God’s voice after hearing, then we will surely lose the chance to follow Him. Therefore, we should focus on hearing God’s voice. Once the bridegroom comes and we hear it, we should seek and study whether it’s God’s voice and whether or not it’s His appearance. Only in this way can we welcome Jesus’ appearance.
